The Cycle of Food

Possibilities of a cyclic food system for a brighter and more sustainable future

Sustainability is a constant concern in our society, especially in the realms of resources and energy. In the consumer market we have become used to products being produced through linear systems, which allow resources and energy to go to waste.

In this project, the first-year MA students at Lund University School of Industrial Design, have set out to identify an activity or area within linear food production and create a sustainable arrangement based on a circular system, without linear packaging or engine-based transportation. As designers, we have been working to find cyclic solutions to currently linear systems and have considered all aspects of sustainable development; economic, ecological and social.

Through this project we – the current first year MA students at Lund University School of Industrial Design – hope that people can see the possibilities of a cyclic food system for a brighter and more sustainable future.

The Cycle of Food will be exhibited at Lokstallarna in Malmö during Southern Sweden Design Days.
