Naked Lounge Chair

The bare minimum

The Naked Lounge Chair is a study of the core values of a piece of furniture and the necessity of material. Lounge Chairs are designed for relaxation. The work displays what is left after the archetypal gets stripped down to its bare minimums: a steel frame with pieces of soft foam being held in place, emphasising the essentials of a relaxing chair. The bareness of materials reveals the furniture’s story of making: welding marks and uncovered foam. The foam can also be taken apart and used for sleeping.
