Bota
Terra cota cooling butter dish
If you don’t like cold butter on your toast in the morning, this butter dish called Bota (a mix between Butter and terra cota) can remedy this problem by keeping your butter at an ideal temperature outside the fridge.
As you may know, you can store your butter outside of the fridge, but to keep it fresh, you need this cooling butter dish which is made out of terra cotta and filled with sand. When water is poured into the sand, evaporation occurs, removing heat from the butter and keeping it fresh but not too cold. Additionally, the lid protects the butter from dust and extends its freshness for two to three days more.
In a world where energy is becoming increasingly scarce, “Bota” offers an interesting alternative.
