The Rooted Project
Sustainability is more important now than ever. In an economy where we exhaust natural resources way faster than they can be replenished, it is vital to investigate linear systems, since they contribute to the majority of production, leading to waste of energy and resources. A shift towards more cyclic solutions is needed.
Through The Rooted Project, first-year Master students at Lund University School of Industrial Design, set out to see how the cyclic approach could be implemented for local food production. They examined existing linear solutions in the food industry and took inspiration from our roots by exploring which traditional practices could be used in modern world to help us strive towards a more sustainable future.
