Space to Earth

In this low-tech system, adjustable bungee panels are integrated in hiking pants to assist people with lower limb muscle weakness in rising up motions during nature excursions. The system is inspired by a spacesuit used on the ISS for working astronauts’ muscles and keeping the spine from elongating during spaceflight. By moving away from skintight and compression clothing to more dressed pants, a focus on recreation rather than rehabilitation is offered.
