The project consists of a duo of see-through, nomadic toilets. Being a taboo and embarrassing subject in many cultures yet an integral part of daily life, Shitting Pretty exists as an “invisible“ presence. The transparency renders the objects “invisible” but paradoxically magnifies the content inside. Inspired by vase and marble game respectively, the two pieces play with visibility and norms. By reinterpreting toilets in a whimsical way, the project encourages the reflection on the themes such as beauty and ugliness, the human body, and self-consciousness.
