SeaPuff

SeaPuff-customizable filling in soft furnishings.

“There is no better designer than nature”
Alexander McQueen

Designing and manufacturing soft furniture is a major challenge, both in terms of materials and technology. Polyurethane foam (PU), despite its many advantages such as low price and a wide range of density options, has one significant drawback: it is difficult to recycle effectively. It is easier to reposition the thread in boxing gloves than to recycle this material efficiently.

For my project, I began to explore alternative materials, both artificial and natural, to find structures that I could translate into a modifiable 3D model. The result of my work is a new filling material that could be a future solution for soft furnishings and beyond.
