Framework

The “Framework” is a series of furniture made for the hallway. The design is inspired by the idea of erasing the opened and closed state within furniture design. The steel framework represents a space within the space, while closing off the space, and being fully opened at the same time. The steel frames are joined together with traditional half blind joints, and machined brass parts with a particular emphasis on the joinery. The surface of the furniture pieces are made out of with linoleum and hammer tone paint.
