ba/Around the Box

Most classrooms today are overcrowded, cramped with static furniture that focuses on functionality-targeting one standard sitting position. In this digital era, there exists a shortage of movement, activity and flexibility

This project concluded in a dynamic school furniture with the concept of a golden proportioned block, applied in a section of classrooms offering four different working positions. Around the Box promotes creativity, movement and teamwork since the furniture allows variations in group constellations. The furniture can be docked together in the positions of laying down, sitting on the floor or standing up straight.

The insights from interviews and research regarding the target group, pedagogics and anthropometrics alongside market analysis formed the basis of this industrial design bachelor project aiming for better learning experiences.
